Jess Weichler is a digital technologies artist and educator in Wellington, NZ. Her work merges technology and traditional art forms to create pieces that are fun as well as educational. She and her partner, Seth Kenlon, were recipients of the 2015 S+ART Grant and the resulting work, Living Circuits, was exhibited at the 2016 S+ART Something Festival in Palmerston North.
In 2017, Weichler joined the LUX Light Festival to deliver the pilot of LUX Kids a programme aimed at children in years 5 and 6 throughout the five Wellington regions. Through LUX Kids, she worked with students as they built and coded their own light installation from recycled materials. Each light installation was installed in the region's town centre during the LUX Light Festival 2017.
